Model Featured on 3DHawaii.com

http://3dhawaii.com/location/opana-point-radar-station Just received word that my model of the SCR 270B radar is featured on 3DHawaii.com, a website promoting tourism in Hawaii. The SCR 270B was the mobile radar unit that first spotted the hoard of Japanese planes coming to bomb Pearl Harbor. While I am not a radar enthusiast, my old USAF buddy, Chuck Varney, a retired engineer, is, and he challenged me to draw a Sketchup model of the radar, guided me through the technical aspects, to result in a very authentic model.

This 3D model of the century-old Ross Building was added to the Historic Downtown Hattiesburg collection in the wake of recent nostalgic memories by those who inhabited its roof and environs during the 1990's alternative music era.

Latest Downtown 3D Models

The four Google Earth screenshots above depict the latest status of Downtown Hattiesburg's 3-dimensional models. Hattiesburg is the only city in the state with this kind of 3D presence on Google Earth. Hattiesburg has been entered in Google's global Model Your Town contest along side major cities on every continent.

Newest model - McLeod House

The Downtown Hattiesburg Project continues to grow. The latest and most complex 3D model so far is McLeod House, the home of Deakle and Couch Law Firm. Built in 1897, this Queen Anne Victorian structure is listed on the Dept of Interiors National Registry of Historic Places. (background music by William Cushman)
